The Christian Outdoor Ministry Story
In 2017, Dr. Danny Souder started Christian Outdoor Ministry with a love for Jesus, a love for the outdoors, and the faith of a mustard seed. After more than 40 years in the ministry, decades as a chaplain for the Dallas Police Department, and a lifetime as an avid hunter, fisherman, and outdoorsman, Danny was called to build a legacy ministry where he could pass on his love for Jesus and the outdoors to the next generation of Texans.
Danny believed that in our toxic world filled with incivility, epidemic loneliness, and young people moving away from the church, Christian Outdoor Ministry could use weekends in the outdoors hunting and fishing to give comfort, love and spiritual renewal to youth and their families while sowing the seeds of future discipleship. God heard our prayer.
The Four COM Pillars
Today, COM engages more than 1,000 people a year on hunts for deer, ducks, hogs, turkeys, and exotics as well as at additional fishing, outdoor, and clay shoot events. Our ministry is based on a foundation of four unwavering pillars:

Volunteers, Guides, Mentors, Coaches, Cooks, and Helpers

Landowners, Ranchers, Ranches and Outfitters
These four essential pillars are required for Christian Outdoor Ministry to move forward, and minister to families in need of the love of Jesus. When these four elements are present, all involved bring glory to God creating stronger families, better relationships, and a new generation of disciples and lovers of the outdoors.
Join Our Prayer Team
Christian Outdoor Ministry is on a mission to share a personal and clear witness of Jesus Christ by taking youth, their parents and families outdoors to hunt, fish, and receive the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our mission is to reach and strengthen youth and families, many of whom have never hunted or fished before.
We’re searching for Prayer Warriors who will pray for our ministry, our youth and families, and our leadership. Presently, we have hundreds of people praying for this ministry and we would be honored to have you as part of our team.
