How It All Began

In April 2017, Christian Outdoor Ministry began with a vision and a commitment to provide hunting and fishing events as a witness to Jesus Christ to youth and their families, under the umbrella of our missions ministry, SMP global.
My father began taking me hunting when I was 9 years old. Through hunting and fishing trips with my father, a passion and love for hunting was founded. Some of my greatest and fondest memories are the times I have spent being at the deer lease with my father and son. I have over 50 years of hunting and fishing memories with my family as we bonded and communicated and shared many great experiences together.
I became a Christian through my parent’s influence when I was 13 years old and was called to ministry when I was 20 years old. I have served as a pastor, missionary, and Dallas police chaplain for over 35 years.
I have served as a member and a board member of the Dallas Woods & Waters Club for over 10 + years. And served as the chairman of the youth & family committee providing youth & family hunting & fishing event experiences.
From God's leading and these life experiences, a vision of sharing Jesus Christ through experiencing god's creation through the outdoors was born.
Why – Christian Outdoor Ministry?
Family - our country and our families are in great trouble in America and the family unit is disintegrating rapidly. The family is the foundation of our country. We must find ways to strengthen our families' relationships. Christian Outdoor Ministry provides opportunities to help strengthen the bonding and communication between youth and their parents.
God’s creation & creatures - our youth and families need a greater understanding, appreciation and love for god’s creation & creatures.
Training - COM provides Christian training and mentoring to youth and their families in the context of outdoor management and conservation activities.
Christian witness - our youth and families need a relationship with Jesus Christ in order to experience God’s love and forgiveness. During our outdoor events we share the message of Jesus Christ with youth and their families. We take time to include devotionals, prayers, and opportunities of pointing to God's creation as an example of His great love for each of us.
